This monograph will attempt to answer the question how legal, technological and social aspects of cybersecurity are shaped in the perspective of the activities of various bodies and commissions of the European Union and national government administration. From the point of view of the topic taken up, it is also important to identify new threats posed by the criminal environment in cyberspace. International researchers on various cybersecurity problems cooperating with each other in various scientific institutions, state sectors and private enterprises, have taken the trouble to describe the cybersecurity conditions from the above perspectives.
Cybersecurity, or – to be more precise – providing security for data and information systems that process them, has become one of the biggest problems of our times. Complex IT systems which process a vast amount of data are becoming appealing targets for criminals. (…) That is why spreading knowledge about threats, possibilities of their reduction and preventing them, is a valuable method for limiting effects of cybersecurity breaches.
dr hab. in. Jerzy Kosiski PhD, prof. Polish Naval Academy in Gdynia, nVice President of the Board of the Crime Prevention Foundation:
The monograph provides for important and valuable theoretical and empirical analysis, considering increasing dependency on and influence of cyberspace on human life and functioning. (…) An additional aspect, increasing value of the study, is the research conducted by the authors of the respective chapters and providing examples of utilizing the aspects of cybersecurity in everyday practice.
